Privacy policy

Ownsteps is built so that your guides never leave your computer unless you export them. This page explains exactly what is and is not collected.
The extension
- Screenshots, step text and guides are stored only in your browser’s local storage on your device.
- Ownsteps records which element you clicked or typed into. It never records the values you type, and it skips password fields.
- There are no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no account.
- The only network request is a license check when you activate Pro. It sends your license key and a random installation identifier to our payment provider, Creem, to confirm the license is valid. No guide content is sent.
- Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored guides.
